For a second time this year, the Charlotte Phoenix Rocket League team has earned the title of champions for the Astronauts Star Circuit! The season four finals, which were held on Saturday, November 20, were the culmination of a two-month-long series of tournaments that featured four qualifying events and an open ladder competition. Phoenix players, Alraz, Beastaboniam, and Delta, compete regularly in the Rocket League Championship Series and were ready to dominate the field in the Astro Star Circuit.

“Winning back-to-back Astro championships feels amazing,” commented Jason Edwards, General Manager for the Charlotte Phoenix. “The team has been putting in a lot of work and they are super motivated. We are extremely proud of them for this accomplishment and feel this is a really good indicator of their performance level heading into the winter split.”

The team qualified through a match earlier in the week, solidifying their spot in the season four championship. Comprised of eight teams, the Astronauts Star Circuit finals featured the Charlotte Phoenix competing against three teams in a single-elimination bracket. In the first match of the event, the quarter-finals, the Phoenix faced off against Team Voted and fought their way to victory with a final score of 3 to 1.

In the semi-finals that followed, team Nefarious fell to the Phoenix with a final score of 4 to 1, bringing Charlotte to the finals where they would compete against Shopify Rebellion for the title. The Phoenix emerged victorious, rising from the ashes with a final score of 4 to 1, to claim the 1st place prize of $6,000 and the second Astro championship win of their career.

With the completion of the Astronauts Star Circuit, the team has concluded the fall competition season and will return to the Rocket League scene in January for the start of the winter split. Follow the Charlotte Phoenix on social media to stay up to date with the latest Rocket League news!
