Charlotte, NC — June 20, 2020

The Charlotte Phoenix are excited to announce the signing of Todd “Anger” Williams Jr. as a Fragger player for the team’s VALORANT roster.

He is a highly accomplished Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player who retired from competing in the game last year. He won six ESEA LAN championships in his career and attended two Valve-sponsored CS:GO Major Championships.

“I am really excited to get back into competitive play as I took a long break from playing CS:GO professionally,” Todd “Anger” Williams Jr. said. “VALORANT has breathed new life into me and I’m looking forward to grinding for a chance at titles with the team.”

He added, “I’m back and here to stay. I will get back to performances I once had and will be a force within the scene.”

Our VALORANT team has competed with each other since the game’s beta. The roster includes Adam “Spirit” Wills, Corey “ChurmZ” Koch, Justin “Ksiaze” Goszczynski, and William “Sh0ts” Griffith. The Charlotte Phoenix parted with a fifth player, Marco “Flowers” Sotelo, earlier this week. Anger is the first new addition to the team since we first signed the roster in May.

Anger has already competed in a number of VALORANT tournaments, even running into the Charlotte Phoenix in the CLG Blitz Cup VALORANT Pro Tournament in May. He’s already had several strong results and will be looking to continue his run of good performances with the Charlotte Phoenix.

The VALORANT team’s next tournament is the Nerd Street Gamers x T1 Valorant Open Qualifier later today at 12:00 PM EST. Anger will make his debut with the Charlotte Phoenix in the tournament. Several of the VALORANT players will be streaming the Qualifier matches, including Anger, sh0ts, and Spirit. Follow us on Twitter for notifications when the Phoenix go live.
